Visit the best wine secrets around Lake Garda

In the last 10 years we have visited approx. 50 wineries near Lake Garda. It has been exciting to explore the different wineries, both in Bardolino and Valpolicella. East of Lake Garda you will find these two fantastic, authentic wineries, where you get the most out of your money.

A hidden treasure and an innovative idea to your advantage

We found Marchesini in the Bardolino district – almost a bit… hidden – by pure chance. Of all the places we had visited, this was definitely where you got the most for your money.

Through my network in the north of Italy and our new friend from Bardolino, I have also managed to enable us to offer you an equally amazing and authentic experience in Valpolicella.

It’s called Le Marognole and it’s a very idyllic family-owned winery, that does not use big expenses on such as; marketing. Regardless, the relationship between price and quality is positively equal to nothing else we could find. So – if you’re a big fan of Amarone, Ripasso etc. you should definitely also visit Marognole in Valpolicella!

Suggestions for combined excursion

Within less than 25 km you have a great opportunity to taste some of the best wines from both the Bardolino and Valpolicella districts. Optimally you would start your trip at the Marchesini Marcello winery. A visit here costs € 20 per person. person, (Children under 15 years, 10 €). The experience includes wine tasting, small portions and local specialties that go with the wine – and of course; a tour of the vineyard.

Zeni Wine Museum is just 5 minutes away. It is an obvious opportunity to combine a visit to Marchesini Marcello with a visit to the wine museum.

At the wine museum, many of the cheap wines are free to taste. If you want to taste eg Amarone, you should expect to get rid of approx. € 10 pr. person. You must be aware that the wine museum is very “touristy”,

If you want an authentic experience, you should instead combine a visit to Marchesini Marcello with a 25 km trip through Valpolicella’s beautiful countryside, to Le Marognole.

Here you will find an idyllic place with high quality wine, at reasonable prices. A wine tasting and tour of the farm, where you learn more about the production of i.a. Amarone costs only 15 euros and is worth all the money.
